Game drives, Flamingoes, Bird watching, Big five
This morning we shall pick you from your hotel at 7:00 am and drive through the viewpoint of the Great Rift Valley to the Masai Mara National Reserve. This enormous reserve is actually part of the vast Serengeti plains famously known for its spectacular great wildebeest migration and is home to the Big Five: lion, elephant, leopard, buffalo and rhino.
You will arrive in time for lunch, after lunch relaxation then leave for an afternoon game drive.
Dinner and overnight.
Early morning breakfast then embark on a full day game drive with packed lunch, viewing the great predators and exploring the park's amazingly high concentration of wild animals. On the plains are enormous herds of grazing animals plus the elusive cheetah and leopard hiding amidst acacia boughs.
During the stay, we also have an opportunity to visit Maasai village (extra cost of $20) to witness the singing and dancing of the masaai people that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse
into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.
Dinner and your overnight stay at the camp.
After breakfast, we drive to Nakuru, picnic lunch enroute, across the equator, southwards of Bogoria, lies the rift valleys most famous lake Nakuru. Known all over the world for its flamingos, it's alkaline and is recognized as being one of the natural wonders of the world. Lake Nakuru is now a rhino sanctuary, harboring a population of over 40 black and over 60 white rhinos, but the flamingos, of course, have always been the main attraction. At times there may be almost 2 million flamingos in the residence, forming a stunningly beautiful deep pink band around the edge of the lakeshore.
Arrival later in the evening, dinner and overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will have an exciting game drive at Lake Nakuru National Park. The park is home to stunning flocks of lesser and greater flamingos, which literally turn the lake shores into a magnificent pink stretch. The birdlife here is world-renowned, with over 400 bird species, including white pelicans, plovers, egrets, and marabou storks. It is also one of the few places in Africa where visitors can see the white and black rhinos and the rare Rothschild giraffe.
After lunch, drive to Lake Naivasha and take a boat ride to Crescent Island (optional). The island hosts an abundance of wildlife, including giraffes, defassa waterbucks, wildebeests, Thompson's gazelles, Burchell's zebras, and impalas, among others. After the experience, you will return to the lodge for dinner and your overnight stay.
After breakfast, you will proceed to Hell's Gate, the only park where you can ride a bike(optional). After riding for 4 hrs, we depart for Nairobi for lunch on the way. Drop off at your hotel / pick up point.
